Rhodes’ emphasis on the sciences is evident; they send 35-54 students per year to medical school, more than other peer small liberal arts colleges.
While pre-med students abound on campus, we also met numerous students and professors in other fields. Computer science is booming and is the second largest major in the senior class.
Students have to live on campus their first two years and there is a push to increase that to three years. Approximately 70% of students live on campus.
The majority of students come from the South, but almost all the states are represented and 10% of the students are international and 30% are people of color.
