The CommonApp Numbers

Over 750,000 students applied to colleges using the Common Application in 2013-14.  That represents a 13% increase over last year.  9.1% of those applying were international students and 28.6% first generation college students (meaning neither parent had a four year degree).   Females continue to outpace males in applications 55% to 45%.  Here is a graphic that breaks down the data.

Even with all the initial bumps in the roll out of the new Common Application this year, more members have joined for the 2014-15 cycle.   Click here for a list of new members.
