After growing up in South Florida, I moved to New York to pursue a B.A. at NYU Gallatin School of Individualized Study where I focused on “Technology in Education.” Having faced my own struggles in the classroom, I felt a natural pull toward investigating the psychology behind modern learning systems. Throughout undergrad, I had the opportunity to teach a wide range of students ranging from incarcerated youth at Rikers Island to elementary schoolers in the Czech Republic. After graduating, I moved to Indonesia as a Fulbright Scholar. When the pandemic cut my time abroad short, the intersection of technology and learning felt more pertinent than ever. This prompted me to earn an M.S.Ed. in Human Development from the University of Pennsylvania.

While working on various research teams at Penn, I realized that the heart of my work was always the same: listening to people’s stories. I became fascinated by how the narratives we construct about ourselves and our world have a ability to shape our reality. This realization inspired me to pursue an MFA in Creative Writing at Stony Brook University, where I have had the opportunity to teach creative writing and serve as a contributing editor for The Southampton Review.

Helping students with college application essays feels like the perfect marriage of my background in education, human development, and storytelling. My own journey from a high schooler who struggled to see myself as “academic” to someone now pursuing a third graduate degree allows me to deeply empathize with students who feel intimidated by the process. I believe every student has a compelling story, and my job is to help you find the confidence to tell yours.
